For Faculty

Library instruction, tools and resources for RCC faculty.

Finding Course Reserves

RCC libraries are an important partner in the shared goal of ensuring all students have the course materials they need to be successful. Each branch holds some physical copies of some course texts. Materials generally check out for the entire term and we retain a library-use only copy of high-demand items. This ensures all students have at least some access to accommodate for delayed delivery of purchased texts or students who might need quick use of a text that they've left at home.

Reserve texts are listed in the library catalog: search by the title of the text or the course number (WR122, for example.)

Texts cannot be placed on hold via the library catalog: contact the holding branch to verify availability and place a hold.

Placing Materials on Reserve

If you have textbooks or other supplemental materials you would like to place on reserve for your course or if you would like the library to consider purchasing materials to place on reserve for your course please contact the circulation manager at the branch where you would like the items held.

We cannot place other libraries' materials on reserve (including items in the JCLS collection.)

Electronic Reserves

Our licensed digital materials--articles, books, and audiovisual--can be linked from your Blackboard course using a link that includes our RCC proxy server information. This is generally NOT the URL found in the address bar, but one specifically identified as a persistent, permanent, or permalink. Students will be able to access the resources using their MyRogue login and password (the same one they use to access Blackboard.)

Some items, particularly eBooks, may have limitations on simultaneous users or on the amount of the material students are allowed to download or print.
